The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):

  • Chrysler is recalling certain 2022 Dodge Durango and Ram 2500 and 3500 vehicles. Due to a software malfunction, the ABS control module may disable the electronic stability control system. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 126, "Electronic Stability Control Systems." Driving with a disabled electronic stability control system can increase the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 211,581 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Chrysler is recalling certain 2023 Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500 vehicles. An insufficient weld in the transmission control unit can allow transmission fluid to leak on to electrical components, resulting in a loss of drive power or loss of park function. A loss of drive power or a loss of park function increase the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 214 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) is recalling certain 2025 Freightliner Cascadia, 108SD, 114SD, Business Class M2, Western Star 47X, 49X, Freightliner Custom Chassis S2RV 106, and S2C 106 transit buses, cabs, and chassis. The front axle tie rod ball joint studs may crack and break, which can result in tie rod separation. Tie rod separation can cause a sudden loss of steering control and increase the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 540 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • DTNA is recalling certain 2025 Freightliner Custom Chassis MC, MT45, MT45G, MT55, S2C 106, S2RV 106, XBS, XCM, XCP, XCR, XCS, Freightliner 108SD, 114SD, Business Class M2, Western Star 47X, 49X, 57X, and Thomas Built Buses Saf-T-Liner C2 transit buses, cabs, and chassis. The wheel hub fasteners may loosen and cause the wheel to detach, which can result in a loss of vehicle control. A loss of vehicle control increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 285 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • DTNA is recalling certain 2025 Thomas Built Buses Saf-T-Liner C2 and EFX school buses. The wheel hub fasteners may loosen and cause the wheel to detach, which can result in a loss of vehicle control. A loss of vehicle control increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 106 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • DTNA is recalling certain 2024-2025 Thomas Built Buses Saf-T-Liner C2 school buses. The front axle tie rod ball joint studs may crack and break, which can result in tie rod separation. Tie rod separation can cause a sudden loss of steering control and increase the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 25 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Forest River is recalling certain 2004-2024 Cedar Creek and 2006-2024 Puma fifth wheels trailers. The overcurrent protection from the trailer battery may have been incorrectly routed, allowing the wires to be pulled out of the junction box. A loose wire can cause a short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire. NHTSA says 41,353 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Forest River is recalling certain 2024 Puma travel trailers. The amber side marker light may not have been installed on one side of the vehicle. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." Missing side marker lights can reduce visibility of the trailer to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 203 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Forest River is recalling certain 2024 Sabre fifth wheels. The emergency exit window was not installed on the driver's side of the vehicle. A missing emergency exit window could prevent or delay occupants from exiting in the event of an emergency, increasing the risk of injury. NHTSA says 101 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Forest River is recalling certain 2024 Forest River Rainier, Stealth Evo, Salem, Vibe, and Wildwood travel trailers. The tire may contact the vehicle body due to insufficient clearance, which can cause tire damage. A damaged tire can fail and cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 45 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Gillig is recalling certain 2023 Low Floor buses equipped with Cummins L9 diesel engines with part number D563027BX03. Insufficient crimping may allow the remote fuel filter hoses to disconnect and leak, decreasing fuel supply to the engine. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire. Additionally, a lack of fuel can cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 54 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Mack Trucks is recalling certain 2025 Mack AN, GR, and TE trucks. The drag link may contain an improperly heat-treated ball stud that can fail, resulting in a sudden loss of steering control. A sudden loss of steering control increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 790 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Mack Trucks is recalling certain 2024 MMDe electric trucks. The battery management system software may cause the high-voltage battery to shut down, which can result in a sudden loss of steering control and drive power. A sudden loss of steering control and drive power increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 24 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Navistar is recalling certain 2024-2025 IC Bus CE school buses. The brake lights, in certain conditions, may not illuminate when the brake pedal is depressed, due to a software error. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS number 121, "Air Brake Systems." Brake lights that fail to illuminate can reduce the visibility of the bus or fail to indicate to other drivers that the bus is slowing down, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 319 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Timpte is recalling certain 2024-2025 Timpte 1420 and 1424 deck trailers. The retaining rod bolts may have been improperly tightened and can fall off, resulting in the folding ramp not being secured. An unsecured ramp can increase the risk of injury. NHTSA says 34 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Volvo Trucks North America is recalling certain 2025 VN, VNRe, and VHD trucks. The drag link may contain an improperly heat-treated ball stud that can fail, resulting in a sudden loss of steering control. A sudden loss of steering control increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 488 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Volvo Trucks North America is recalling certain 2025 VN and VHD trucks. The steering gear may have an improperly seated plug in the valve housing, which can result in a sudden loss of steering control. A sudden loss of power steering assist increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 424 units are potentially affected by the recall.
