The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):

  • ABC BUS is recalling certain 2023-2024 Van Hool CX35 and CX45 vehicles equipped with Hydronic L-II heaters. The burner units may release excessive exhaust gas. Excessive exhaust gas can result in smoke poisoning or cause a vehicle fire, increasing the risk of injury. NHTSA says potentially 230 units are affected by the recall.
  • Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA)) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Thomas Built SAF-T-Liner C2 and SAF-T-Liner C2 Jouley school buses. The rubber ball seal in the Intellipark Park Valve Modules (PVM) may fracture and cause a leak, which can result in park brake failure or unexpected park brake engagement while driving. Park brake failure or unexpected park brake engagement while driving increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says potentially 398 units are affected by the recall.
  • DTNA is recalling certain 2024-2025 Freightliner Business Class M2 vehicles. The rubber ball seal in the Intellipark Park Valve Modules (PVM) may fracture and cause a leak, which can result in park brake failure or unexpected park brake engagement while driving. Park brake failure or unexpected park brake engagement while driving increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says potentially 220 units are affected by the recall.
  • Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2024 F-150 vehicles. The steering column lower shaft may have been secured to the steering gear assembly with an incorrect fastener, which can result in the separation of steering components and cause a loss of steering control. A loss of steering control increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says potentially 385 units are affected by the recall.
  • Forest River Bus is recalling certain 2024 Glaval Universal and Mobility Trans Safetbus transit buses, equipped with certain GO-ES Space Saver Foldaway Seats. The recliner mechanism may not engage when the seat back is fully reclined. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages." The seat back could release under the shoulder belt load, increasing the risk of injury during a crash. NHTSA says potentially 58 units are affected by the recall.
  • Mack Trucks is recalling certain 2024-2025 MD vehicles. The Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) listed on the vehicle certification label is incorrect, which can allow the vehicle to be overloaded. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification." An overloaded vehicle can increase the risk of a crash. NHTSA says potentially 18 units are affected by the recall.
  • Navistar is recalling certain 2024-2025 IC Bus CE SBUS school buses equipped with Intellipark Park Valve Modules (PVM). The rubber ball seal in the PVM may fracture and cause a leak, which can result in park brake failure or unexpected park brake engagement while driving. Park brake failure or unexpected park brake engagement while driving increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says potentially 73 units are affected by the recall.
  • Nova Bus is recalling certain 2022-2023 LFS vehicles. Insufficient crimping may allow the secondary fuel filter hoses to disconnect and leak. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire. Additionally, a lack of fuel can cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says potentially 52 units are affected by the recall.
  • Spartan Fire is recalling certain 2022-2024 Gladiator, Metro Star, and 2023-2024 FC-94 vehicles. The seat mount fastener may be undersized and could break. As such, these vehicles may fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS number 207, "Seating Systems." A broken fastener can allow the seat to move, increasing the risk of injury during a crash. NHTSA says potentially 44 units are affected by the recall.
