ROYPOW now offers a 48-volt, all-electric lithium APU.

The system draws power from the truck's alternator or a solar panel and stores it in lithium batteries. It then converts the power for use in the cab to run an air conditioner, TV, fridge, microwave and more.

ROYPOW says the unit can connect to multiple charging sources, including shore power. When using the alternator, the unit charges in about two hours and the solar panel can charge both the APU batter and the starter battery to prevent restart issues.

The APU has a run time of more than 14 hours on a full charge and ROYPOW says it's been tested for up to 10 years and more than 6,000 power cycles. It can also withstand long-haul vibrations and shocks, the company says.

The DC air conditioner has a 12,000 BTU/h cooling capacity and can cool in as little as 10 minutes. The unit is also quiet, running as low as 35 decibels, ROYPOW says, which is akin to a library. Drivers can start it remotely from an app, ensuring the cab is comfortable when they get in.

The 48-volt to 12-volt DC-DC converter has a design life of up to 15 years, ROYPOW says, built to withstand mobile environments. The APU also has an inverter, battery charger and MPPT solar charge controller for simplified installation and wiring.
