SAF-Holland announced Tuesday at Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week it is revamping, expanding and rebranding its global remanufacturing product line as Haldex REMAN.

There's a new look for an established player in the remanufacturing space.

SAF-Holland announced Tuesday during a press conference at Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) in Grapevine, Texas, that it is revamping, expanding and rebranding its global remanufacturing product line as Haldex REMAN.

The moves comes a little more than a year after SAF-Holland finalized its acquisition of Haldex, which included the Like-Nu remanufactured brand. SAF-Holland states by removing the Like-Nu name and rebranding its combined remanufacturing operations under the Haldex name, it is able to best capitalize on the latter's global market awareness and reputation.

Haldex REMAN logo"As we were working through the acquisition and trying to understand where all our brands live, we identified the recognition customers have for the Haldex brand," says William Walls, director of program management, Aftermarket at SAF-Holland.

Walls says through Haldex REMAN, SAF-Holland will be able to assure the industry that its remanufactured product line carries the same quality and reliability reputation for meeting the customer’s expectations.

Under the new brand, Haldex will remanufacture air compressors, ABS valves, air dryers, air system/brake valves, compressors, power steering units, and water pumps, with Reman Product Manager Brent Dinger adding the company also intends to expand its product proliferation in the steering category later this year.

“Haldex is expanding its remanufactured product portfolio to respond to the rising demands in this segment as the number of older vehicles in the market increase,” he says. “We are now dedicating the Marion, N.C. facility solely to Haldex REMAN products, and have streamlined operations to allow for further expansion of focused OEM product lines.”

SAF-Holland says the N.C. facility will use state-of-the-art procedures and will be tested and certified to like new quality. The N.C. facility serves as the company's specialty products plant, which will enable the company's remanufacturing division insight into unique future product line opportunities.

Walls says this rebrand now enables SAF-Holland to go to market with multiple unique aftermarket brands. Its The OE Original service parts brand supports the core products for SAF, Holland, and Haldex. The Midland brand, acquired by Haldex in 1998, and its all-makes value brand represents a wide ranging product offering, all tested for compliance with Haldex quality standards. And Haldex REMAN will support price-conscious customers looking to keep their trucks, trailers, and buses running for the next million miles.

Additionally, the company notes its environmentally friendly remanufacturing process mirrors the manufacture of new parts with the benefit of reducing GHG emissions and waste while consuming fewer resources.

“I am incredibly proud to be a part of Haldex Reman,” says Nathan Duncan, Haldex remanufacturing operations director. “Our unwavering commitment to quality, sustainability, and customer satisfaction sets us apart in the remanufacturing industry. The dedication and expertise of my colleagues inspire me as we strive daily to maintain our winning edge in the field.”
