Fleets converting vehicles from traditional diesel powertrains to battery-electric are likely to encounter new and unexpected hurdles during the transition period, a reality Motiv Electric Trucks is all too aware of.

This is one reason why the California-based manufacturer of medium-duty electric trucks and buses decided to create and launch the Motiv Premier Partner Network, or MPPN.
What is it, exactly?
Motiv says MPPN has two goals for fleets: lower carbon output and costs. Per the press release, it's "a carefully vetted commercial fleet resource consisting of industry-leading solution providers available to support fleets at any stage of their journey to net-zero emissions."
Translation: Motiv has created a network of eight partner companies to support its customers as they work through that transition. Depending on their progress, MPPN provides fleets with access to experts in all facets of planning and execution to avoid common mistakes and costly technology and energy costs. This is immensely beneficial for fleets who are just beginning the EV transition process.
"Depending on the size of the fleet and the miles travelled, customers can realize a net positive impact of thousands of dollars per year by making smarter decisions on hardware, utilization and finance, dramatically shortening the time to ROI," said Scott Griffith, CEO of Motiv. "We’ve done the hard work of finding and vetting the best and smartest leaders in the industry."
MPPN's partners have experience in the following categories: Charging Hardware, Charging Management Systems (CMS), Telematics, Consulting, Charging as a Service, Vehicle/Charging Financing, EPC/Professional Services and Operations & Maintenance.
For now, Motiv's Premier Partner companies include:
ABM, Flipturn, FractalEV, FuSE, Geotab, InCharge Energy, The Mobility House, and SitelogIQ.
Fleets who've successfully navigated through the pilot phase towards full scale, fleet-wide electrification can take advantage of these partner companies to continue optimizing operations and charging demand.
Motiv confirms it continues to seek additional partner companies with proven experience in those categories.
Equally important, the network provides access to financing, incentives, credits, and other similar programs.

"Now more than ever, smart fleets are looking at the entire ecosystem of electrification to reduce total cost of ownership (TCO),” added Griffith. "At every step in the process of fleet electrification, key decisions can either save or increase costs. Our premier partners are experts in helping fleets avoid costly mistakes in construction, infrastructure development and charging hardware/software selection."
To date, Motiv's MD trucks have travelled almost 6 million miles in real world driving. Existing customers include Purolator, Vestis, Cintas, Bimbo Bakeries, and Shasta Linen Supply.
